Welcome to our official (first) Blog from Yoga NRG and the launch of our revamped website.
When considering what to write for my first Blog for the new site, I thought a good place to start was to come back to my intentions (why am I doing what I am doing)
After working in the health industry (since 1994) I began to see where this thing we call “dis-ease” was coming from and was curious about how to turn it around. Quite often the people I was nursing although they may have been admitted to hospital with a physical diagnosis it was common to find a link between their mind state, their relationships with the people in their lives and what was showing up physically in their bodies. Surprisingly enough I noticed this in myself also – what appeared as a painful nurse’s back was so much more than that (so Yoga helped me discover!)
Yoga has helped me to join the dots and clearly understand (and feel from experience) this notion of being “at ease” rather than “dis-ease” – in fact Yoga explains it very clearly – it’s LOVE & CONNECTION.
“Yoga ENERGY evolved from experiencing the importance and the human necessity of CONNECTION”
Connection can be described as the “ENERGY that exists between people when they can be themselves, when they are able to give and receive without being concerned about what others think or about being judged”. It is about feeling seen, heard and loved.
Connection exists when people are fully present with each other. I personally find being 100% present with others and myself challenging when trying to juggle the many facets and expectations of modern day life.
Yoga Practice however (whether it be Power Yoga, Anusara Yoga,Iyengar Yoga, Bikrham Yoga, Yin Yoga, Long Slow Deep Yoga or Core Yoga) is the perfect way to get a clear perspective of life. Yoga Asana (the postures in what ever style they are done) help to collaborate my body in order for my mind to focus on what my heart truly needs –
the answer is always the same LOVE.
I hope you enjoy the many events and programs that YOGA NRG offers to help you remember how to LIVE WITH HEART and connect you to that place that is already there inside you, that place that feels like HOME.
The blogs to follow will have practical info on how to come back to that place – (whether it be sharing insights about asana, alignment, philosophy, what we eat, our mental anatomy, or just how we treat ourselves in general) We will include blogs from our Guest presenters, teachers, those who come to our classes and others that inspire, empower and remind us about what is important.
Perhaps your practical exercise for today is writing down who in your life you are grateful for or TELLING THEM “YOU MAKE A DIFFERENCE”
